With Amazon Global Selling, Vietnamese businesses can quickly bring their products to more than one million new customers in some of the fastest-growing e-commerce markets. Their products can reach North America (the United States, Canada, and Mexico), Japan, China, Australia, and the European Union (the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain).
Amazon possesses a highly developed logistics network. A seller only needs to complete registration, upload product information on Amazon, and wait for customers to place orders. They do not need to spend much time or effort to deliver their products to any destination worldwide.
In addition to its convenient warehousing and distribution system, exporters selling via Amazon also enjoy multiple benefits, such as easy access to both wholesale and retail customers, and the ability to build and promote an international brand through Amazon’s cost-effective advertising tools.

Sellers can choose between two order-fulfillment methods:
Self-fulfillment (handling packaging and shipping independently), or Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA).
Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) allows businesses to ship their goods to Amazon’s global fulfillment centers, where the products are stored and delivered securely from the United States to destinations worldwide (or vice versa) within about one week. This service simplifies the sales process and enhances the seller’s competitiveness in the international marketplace.
Merchants can also use Amazon’s platform to distribute their goods to any country where Amazon has fulfillment centers. Amazon ships products to over 100 countries worldwide, making sellers an integral part of the global value chain.
Amazon’s fees are calculated based on several factors such as product type, unit size, and other operational elements. On average, the total cost is around 30% of the product’s value, of which approximately 15% covers packaging and international shipping expenses.
Exporting through Amazon presents a major opportunity for small, medium, and micro-sized enterprises, especially those with limited financial and human resources.
However, to succeed in exporting from Vietnam to Amazon’s markets, businesses must be well-prepared, as this model also carries certain risks. Depending on the destination country, shipping times can be very long, and in some cases, goods may fail to reach customers. This can lead to negative feedback or low ratings from buyers—and in serious cases, account suspension.
Amazon has also received complaints about common delivery issues in Europe. Sometimes, goods arrive too early, before customers are ready to receive them, and are therefore returned. In other cases, packages are left with neighbors when the recipient is not home, or items become damaged during transportation and are returned.
Such issues can affect both the profitability and reputation of the seller.
